The Student Assessment Guide and Learning Plan describes the evidence required to be competent in this unit.
You can track your progress by comparing it against the unit requirements and at every stage of your learning and study you can get support from your iTAFE mentor and advisor.
The Student Assessment Guide for the unit is
located on the second green tile on the unit webmix or by clicking here, don’t
forget to acknowledge that you have read and understood from the Home page of
this blog.
Study Guide
There are many ways that you might choose to make your way through the unit. The diagram and suggested sessions (below) will help to plan your learning through the Provide visitor information unit. The sessions outlined below are a suggestion only - you may have another way that you prefer to study.
SESSION 1 – Access and update visitor
information – Pink Tiles
This
topic explores where to look for local information and the types of information
that visitors may need as well as how to update your knowledge and share this
with your colleagues. You may like to think about the following:
Q1 – Discuss the type of information that visitors may require on a
local area giving examples and where you would source the information.
Q2 – Discuss opportunities to update and maintain local area knowledge.
Q3 - Why is it important to share any updated information and knowledge
with colleagues
SESSION 2 – Provide information to
visitors – Aqua Tiles
In
this topic we will look at the types of visitors that may be encountered and
how we need to ensure the information we provide is sufficient. You may like to think about the following:
Q1 – Why is it important to identify the specific information
and assistance needs of the customer and how can we ensure we do this?
Q2 - Visitor
information centres do not just provide local area information for visitors.
List 3 other internal products and services they may also offer visitors?
SESSION 3 – Seek feedback on
information provision – Yellow Tiles
The
final topic explores feedback and its importance. You may like to think about the following:
Q1
- Why is it important that we seek visitor feedback on services and
information we have provided and then share this internally with our
colleagues?
Q2 - Explain why it is important to follow
workplace procedures for any formal customer evaluation that you must undertake
and outline what a good procedure would include.
The brown tiles are general information and link to a number of visitor information websites for local regions such as the Central Coast, Newcastle and Port Stephens.
